Die-hard Ohio State fans frequently rally at Mickey’s Bar & Patio to cheer on the Buckeyes, and despite Saturday’s less than impressive weather, dozens showed up (and out) to support the long-standing rivalry against the Michigan Wolverines. I felt like I’d traveled back in time to the north side of OSU’s campus where my girlfriends and I drank out of kegs of beer and danced in the street during commercials. I’m talking about endless pitchers of beer, waitresses donning both new and old school football jerseys, a DJ that spins during halftime and enough Buckeye spirit to award any fan with an honorary degree. Yes, I can attest that OSU houses some of the most rowdy fans in big ten football history; and I’m not ashamed to say that I was amongst some of the finest. And although the Wolverines led throughout most of game with a final score of 40 – 34, breaking a 7—game losing streak, the Buckeyes are still number one in my book. Not to mention, I have those student loans to remind me…
